Structure Diagram

What is it?

Structure Diagrams are the relationships of application screens according to user flows. They set the base for the user flows and are the underlying structure of the application. Otherwise known as “Hub and Spokes”.

Structure diagrams help you communicate your application’s structure with your team members and to help everyone focus on the key parts of the design.

Who uses them?

Developers and Designers use these diagrams to visualize the structure of the applications design. they are a quick and easy way to communicate structure among the team members and to help them focus on key parts of the design.

How It Works

  1. Start with user tasks. When analyzing user tasks, take note the relationships of the data collection and the process.
  2. Develop relationships. The Information Architect diagrams the relationships of screens and data collections into a Hub and Spoke diagram.
